Heart's Desire Part 5 Merlin could sense something was wrong. All day things hadn't felt quite right. The night was unusually dark, there were no stars and the moon was the tiniest sliver of shining silver. He lay down in his bed and shut his eyes. His mind wandered making sleep nearly impossible. Sighing, Merlin rolled onto his side. A heavy panting sound wormed its way into his brain and he jerked upward. Merlin grabbed his jacket and headed for the front door. "Merlin?" came a quiet voice. He'd forgotten that there were two people to sneak past, now. He turned to see Lewind watching him in confusion. She moved to get up and he turned away. "I'm already dressed," she laughed quietly. She silently opened the door and went out. He smiled and laughed silently as he followed her.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Heart's Desire Part 4 "So, it's 'Merlin', right?" asked Lewind. Merlin looked up from the book he'd been scanning for any valuable information. "Yeah," he responded. "Hmm, it's a nice name. Unusual, though," she told him. "So is yours," mumbled Merlin. "I guess it is unusual, as well," she mused. "I meant it was nice," he corrected. Lewind's cheeks took on a light pinkness. Gaius entered the room. "Merlin, have you found anything yet?" he questioned. Merlin turned towards him, "Not yet." "Maybe I could help?" suggested Lewind. "I mean since I saw it." "Yes, an excellent idea!" said Gaius. Lewind sat next to Merlin and grabbed a book from the stack on the table. She began to flip through it slowly. A picture in the book Merlin was holding caught her eye.
